Instant Family is a charming family film with a lot of heart. The movie touches on a legitimate real-life scenario that a lot of people don't seem to talk about and seeing it portrayed in such a profound and thoughtful way was emotional and fun all at the same time. At times the movie can be too cheesy in an attempt to pull on your heartstrings more but most of the film feels genuine as well as the characters which make it easy to get emotionally invested and connected to the characters and the story.
I also adored this cast! They delivered some amazing and heartwarming performances. These are the kind of movies I love, the ones that actually have something to say. Watching this movie was so refreshing after watching that trainwreck of a film Frat Star. This movie was also genuinely hilarious.
I found myself smiling throughout the majority of the film and laughing at many of the jokes! As a huge Mark Wahlberg fan, this movie will probably go down as one of my favourite Wahlberg films to date. Though it does has it problems from time to time I genuinely loved this movie and it made me very happy as well. It's one of those movies that you can feel good and happy after watching it yet it's still emotional and deals with some serious issues.
At the end of the day, Instant Family was a great comedic film that tells an important story and deals with some serious issues. The movie is emotional and moved me to tears a couple of times and if you love this kind of movie that has something to say and knows how to use good comedy correctly then this is definitely the film for you!
