I finally watched The Town! The Town Movie Review.

So I liked The Town, I just didn't love it. I thought the film was really well made for the most part but I just didn't feel very connected to the film and it didn't really resonate with me afterwards. I normally love movies like this, like I seriously enjoy crime thriller heist kind of movies but I don't know why something about this movie just didn't completely click with me. The movie feels a lot longer then it really is and the pacing is quite off.

The acting was pretty phenomenal and I loved the cast but some of it was a little over the top and a lot of the dialogue felt very unrealistic. I really did like the more intense and thrilling aspect of this movie but sometimes it gets a little too intense and they'd keep building and building onto that but the moments they tried to break some of that tension up just completely fell apart for me. Ben Affleck delivers a career-best performance for me and his chemistry with his cast members was incredible. Wether he had a scene with Jeremy Renner or with Blake Lively or with Rebecca Hall it always felt his character just clicked with whoever.

I loved the opening scene but there were some moments that were too over the top and I understand that they were trying to implement the characters actions, personality and relationships but some of it didn't work because it was too unbelievable. I don't always expect top-notch realism from movies but a film that's so gritty and clearly meant to be realistic when it goes over the top, it just doesn't work. I think Ben Affleck did an incredible job at creating the atmosphere surrounding the characters and the story to have the audience feel more apart of the film, I genuinely believe he did do a good job at that.

I think this movie was good, not necessarily great or anything special but it clearly had a lot of great ideas and some solid characters that did manage to be interesting in the film. Like I said the cast did fantastically and I believe this film could have definitely been better if a little more effort was put into how they were building up the story but I understand why so many people loved this film. It was genuinely entertaining and I did enjoy myself for a lot of it. The movie has a lot of character to it but lacks the necessary charm to pull off some of the ideas it introduces successfully. Even with all that said I still believe the movie had some heart and you can tell that everyone who worked on this film put a ton of effort into it but sadly I just wasn't finished with the overall structure of this movie.
